A series of software experiments that intentionally break conventional UI patterns.

Edge Case is a series of software experiments that intentionally break conventional UI patterns to reveal underlying assumptions in digital design. By creating interfaces that respond in unexpected ways—buttons that move when approached, text that gradually becomes illegible as you read it, navigation that changes based on time of day—the project challenges the invisible rules that govern our digital interactions. Each experiment is designed to provoke a moment of awareness about how deeply our behaviors are shaped by interface conventions.
The project emerged from a critical examination of how boundaries shape our understanding of technology and its role in society. By deliberately exploring edge cases and liminal spaces, we can reveal hidden assumptions and open up new possibilities for design and interaction.
The development process involved extensive research, prototyping, and testing at the boundaries of conventional practice. Through iterative experimentation, the project evolved from theoretical concept to realized form, maintaining a focus on the threshold between familiarity and innovation.
By challenging established patterns and expectations, the project creates moments of reflection and reconsideration. It invites viewers/users to question their relationship with technology and consider alternative possibilities beyond conventional boundaries.
